Joker Lanterns

What is Joker Lanterns?

Bolting a collect-style bingo mechanic onto a reel slot is a way of blending formats within a single title, giving players a secondary layer to track alongside the reels. Rounded out by fixed jackpots and free spins, the release reads as a feature-dense mid-market slot rather than a math-led experiment.

The key takeaway for an experienced player is that none of these mechanics is genuinely novel on its own. The interest lies in the combination, and in REEVO’s decision to package several familiar systems into one release aimed at broad appeal.

Thunder Walker is best read as evidence of REEVO’s content strategy rather than as a landmark launch. The studio is producing recognizable, theme-led slots and pushing them through its own distribution platform to its operator network. The game is now live through the REEVO platform, making it available to the company’s operator partners and their players.

This requirement raised concerns among operators worried that the barriers to entry could have become more restrictive, But at a meeting on the policies last year the regulator assured licensees it was not enforcing a specific strict rule on this.

Speaking to iGB at the time, Bjorn Fuchs, chairman of VNLOK Fuchs noted “there was a sigh of relief going through the room when it was presented”.

Rather than a crackdown across the board, what emerged was a more regulated renewal framework.
